Tenants Information
It is usually easy to get somewhere to rent. Anyone at anytime of their life may find themselves in private rented accommodation. Renting is convenient, flexible and works well for many people. Before renting it is always better to know your rights as well as your responsibilities and where to go for advise if problems do come up.
With few exceptions, all landlords in Scotland are now required by law to register with their local authority. This is an attempt to make sure that not only the property, but the landlord is ‘fit and proper’ to be renting accommodation.
